Wondering if anyone is interested in modeling the early FG42 which is the top one in this photo:

The bottom one is the current one that is in game. I think the earlier model looks better.

No the picture works just fine.
Important things to note about the early model:
Bipod folds out toward you, the swivel is at the base of the foregrip.
Does not have hooded front sight.
Is slimmer, sleeker and smaller than first model.

This sounds like a job for a hackjobber! Look! Up in the sky! etc. etc... Surely Devin or someone of his ilk could do this easily enough.

Ive kinda already got something close to this done. However, the only animations where a bipod is folded out toward you is iron sigthed, so i ahd to flip the bipod around and use default animations. Its still lovely, and looks neato, but its not accurate, cause i also added the new stlye pistol grip to it,c ause it fits the defaul animations. Ill release it soon, jsut need to update it with neweer skin and P models.

I animated the "early type" FG42 some time ago.

Ill re-animate for DoD v_1.0
:)
yay, you know Glimsharp, you should animate with the default bone assignments, making it easier for amateurs to use the animations on new models, sometimes the hands/arms are completely fuxored, your old MoH garand animations were both accurate and awesome, but could only be used on that model.
Glimsharp, it's got a hooded front sight. :/
