Displacement grass help

I'm making a hill with displacements, but when I compile, the little grass sprites are everywhere. How can I reduce the number of them?

You can change the material used (texture). Different materials call up different sprites. Just try using a different grass or what ever and see what it does :)

You can change it but it's a little complicated, its in the details.vbsp

but I like the texture :(. I was considering looking around the VMF but then it would seem people would have to download the texture, so that's a no go. Damn. :(

It's only 150kb for it. People are going to have to download your 50meg map anyways a few kb here and there won't hurt.

What terrain texture are you using? The Flash grass? if so, just add Alpha displace to the level of 1 and it'll kill the grass in that area, and still look like grass.

I tried doing that but alot of the parts on my map are really precise adjustments and can't use just 1.
