My skins do not show up during game. Is there a reason they do not work? I'm 300% positive that they are installed to the correct location, I've checked the installation more than I can count. Does it depend on the server?
Thanks.

Copy and paste the directory at the top (the address bar) of where you have your skin files themselves. You might have put a folder within the same folder. Like materials\materials...

ProgramFiles/Valve/Steam/SteamApps/bigpepper23/dayofdefeatsource/dod
And then all into their specfic folders. There are no duplicates, I've checked over and over.
Moved to MSA. You'll get the most help here :)

It depends on the type of skins they are...
Are they player skins, and do you have multiple skins for each side, like a seperate skin for the assault class, the rifleman class, etc.
In that case, you may have to create your own .VMT file for each skin you're using. Or perhaps you created a .VMT file and it isn't assigning the texture correctly.
If that is what you're doing, you also need to have the correct model set, which allows different skins for each class.
Give me more details, and I'll do my best to help you.
I know it isn't much fun when you think you have a texture set up right, and all you get in game is a bunch of purple polygons. :)

I found the problem, I didnt have them in materials. They work flawlessly now.
Andy:
I'm assuming its a problem with your video card.

the same thing used to happen to me (the purple and black boxes) when I used VTFtool to convert .tga files to .vtf
no its not a vid card thing. Its a lack of .vmt files or other data.
No problems now that I'm using Nem's .VTF plugin for Photoshop. And i don't have photoshop. If you're using Paint Shop Pro like me you can still use the photoshop plugin. You just have to put it in a slightly different dir.
