I am getting an error when trying to compile a map. I set up hammer according to the tut on this site but just cant figure out why it cannot find the bsp file (or make it).

All the compile settings are at default.

Here is the error I get:

The command failed. Windows reported the error:
"The system cannot find the file specified."

i think that means that there was a compiling error, so the bsp the compiler is looking for, wasn't even created. check the errors further above in your log.. if there's something else wrong, you should fix that first, then recompile.

I used to get this, when I copied a skybox from another one of my maps. I deleted the skybox and compiled fine.

Make sure you back up.
