stretched overlay

im using the overlay of the leaves on the ground. most of them are turning out fine, but some are oddly stretching. they are on displacements, but it confuses me as to why some turn out fine and some stretch, like in the picture below.

anyone else with this problem? any solutions?

you can set a multiplier in their settings in the form of X and Y axis. Default is 0 for both, but you can change those values so the same overlay is applied X number of times (X being what you decide) over the whole area the overlay covers.

I hope that's a good enough description ;)

its fine in hammer. i did not strectch the values, and in the 3d views, it looks like it should. but its after the compile, and as i run my map, this stretch takes place.

I have had a bit of that, but not to your extent. More like the overlay goes overboard a couple units... Could be a bug in the compile tools?

If you manipulate the displacement terrain (stretch especially) the overlay will stretch as well.

but the odd thing is, the example i have above is on a still very flat ground with hardly any slope at all. and i do not adjust horizontal axis points, only vertical. i also have other areas that are much more susceptible to this "stretch" (according to your displacement theory), but do not seem to be affected at all.

anyways, thanks for all the help thus far.
hopefully it continues untl its fixed :p
