I doubt a Mac can run Hammer (even through PC emulating software). It's been a few years since I've even touched my Mac, maybe it is possible.

Source games can not run on Mac OS so I doubt you'll find anyone that maps for Mac games here. Unless they're also mapping for Halo or UT based games

Thanks, I didn't have Hammer in mind, I was meaning a program specifically for Macs, we have them at school. I know you can play older versions of Doom on Macs, I thought perhaps someone may be using a Mac to map (they are quite popular for 3d design etc.)
On another note, I do know of one program - it just looked a little complicated and I wasn't sure if it was what I wanted,
Thanks

In my time working for Apple, I haven't heard of a single mapping program. Mind you the gaming scene on Macs is just about as big as there are penguins in Africa, and it definitely isn't a market that Steve Jobs considers (or ever has considered seriously)
The word on the Apple streets back then (around the release of HL2) was that Gabe Newell had contacted Jobs hoping to work on a Mac OS HL2 version, which Jobs simply turned down after being asked to invest 1 million $ in the development. Whether that's true or not...

$1 mil. was that all? gees... It must've been more than that, that would surprise me. I still find it sad and amusing that a guy can be fired from his own company...
Thanks for the reply Furyo.

???
Also the 1 million dollar was going to be for the port to Mac, the game already existed, so whether that's the true figure or if even the whole story is true, I can't think the amount would be much higher...

That is quite suprising if you indeed worked for Apple. When mac transitioned to PowerPC in the mid ninties there were many Mac native and cross-platform 3d engines and editors being developed.

I was a grammar school student back then ;) I worked there during 2003-2004, and those were definitely a thing of the past. The only graphics market for Apple was pro designers/architects. Adobe and AutoCad. Not Hammer and Doom III :)

Steve Jobs got fired from Apple when he allowed someone to get too much power... his Chief Executive (his equivelant anyway) thought Steve should be fired, and the Board agreed, so Steve went off and started Pixar and something else... I won't get lost in figures, just for the port, I suppose $1 mil is a tad high.

Oh you were refering to that. Yeah Jobs got fired and started Pixar, then Next, while keeping in touch with his friends in Apple. He got back in in 97 and made Apple buy Next.
