Lighting Lights

Im making a night map, so far I have the light_env set to a dark blue to give the impression of night without not seeing anything. I've added several street lamps, but the only way to make the acutual lamp light up is to have a light source directly underneath it, but this looks funny as it sometimes lights up the wall next to the light source rather than the light itself. Whats a good method to create street lamps that give out light? :sheep:
thx in advance
Glow sprites are good... I'm not sure if any lamps have alternate skins though, maybe they do?
do you mean similar to this?
funny i can do that but not cubemaps Oo

you can use a combination of a light entity and a env_sprite entity. You can also disable the shadow on the lamp model so the light does not cast a shadow on a wall for example.

Ah disabling shadow makes sense... I've been using the glow sprites but its just that the lamp its self is black instead of yellow. However by placing a light entity underneath it it makes it yellow, though sometimes it has lighter lighting on sides of the lamp.
Kswn - Yes thats what I mean but I am using hanging lights so they have 4 sides to light.
