Finally started on the allies

RELEASED. SEE RELEASE SECTION
Wow.
I am humbled. I never really knew how much people pay attention to these little things I make. I cannot believe how many times I've had this conversation on game servers recently:
"Hey Wile"
"what"
"Are you Wile E Coyote from the DOD forums?"
"yup"
"Your skins rock. I'm using them right now. etc, etc......."
and then, inevitably,
"Are you going to do an allied skin?"
But I must thank you all for the kind words. Like I've said before this is the easiet job. Mapping and modelling (especially modelling HUMAN characters) is the difficult stuff. I just make their stuff look even better.
And now to the heart of things. I'm posting this for all those questions about the Allied skin. I've started it. I've collected about half of the resources and after 50 hit and misses trying to do a decent skin I broke down and went all semi- professional on ya and shelled out a couple bucks for studio quality hi-res photos (www.3d.sk). It was worth it, believe me.
So here he is, Sergeant Joe
Just the head so far, but believe me that means its 1/4 done already. I have fiddled with the helmet. I want to put a net on it, and it does not want to co-operate. Eventually I will win.
And yes that BIG honkin pic to the right is actual a screen grab of the model.
And before you go and think this was one of those prefab skins offered at 3D.sk - think again. I had to make this baby from scratch from about 10 diffrent pictures.

Looking good, Wile. The problem is, high-resoultion dosen't fit into the rest of the game, know what I mean?

Great News, cant wait to get them since ive seen the fantastic work you did on the german skins that i now use as my default ones  I tried all the other german skins and they dont compare to your models. From the pics you put up i can see its going to be another top notch job done by you so it will be well worth the wait.Thank you for the update.

Make me want to pick up where I left off on my Brit models for source but this whole consistency/no-brits thing makes me so unmotivated! :(
Good job though, like the skins!

It's good but the right eye looks to be too far from the nose as opposed to the other eye.

What the... They do not even look remotely alike with the exception of both being profiles.
Hey, Wile. Nice work so far! I'm busy these days, but you know I'm here to help you out if you need it.

You'll have to tell it to the modeller. That's the default model. This is just a skin. (and besides you will never notice it in-game they usually have a helmet on)

I agree. That's because the model in the original photos apparently had a slightly wandering left eye. It's WIP. I'll fix it before I release ;)

And hear from me you will eventually. You're my quality control, although I may have forgot to mention that to ya. :D

Well it's been going slow, got other thing s to take care of pretty much done with the player skin except for a few changes, still have to do the equipment and bumpmaps. Here's an in-game screen to give ya an idea. Don't want to post too much on something half-finished
BTW, those are Higgns' sleeve skins, not mine
