Mappers Source map models index

This thread is to keep a list of released map models that mappers may want for maps. It's simply to make it easier for stuff to be found.

MODS When a map model is posted as "released" and any last minute tweaks, updates are done, post the name of the model, its author and a link to its release thread here.

AUTHORS Make sure final versions of your models are posted in the release forum along with a screenshot and download link to your model. If you update your model or perform any fixes, please update the original release thread. Please also indicate if the model is a prop_static or prop_physics

Use in other games/mods
Each of the models in the list below is colour coded to signify what permission the model author has given for it's use - DoD:S only, any game/mod or to ask first:

Any Game - The modeller has given permission for their model to be used with any Source game or mod.
Ask first - The model was originally release for DoD:S, but the modeller may allow it to be used in other games on request.
DoD Only - This modeller has released this model for DoD:S ONLY.
Unknown - The modeller hasn't said (yet) what permission's they have given. Assume DoD:S only.

In all cases, always remember to credit the modeller for his work in the readme for any game/mod/map that uses their model!

Stupid question. Just started mapping, where does the ME109 and nebelwerfer models go? What folder? So that when i run SDK I can actually bring it up and place it in a map I am making.

prop_static: stationary, can't be moved in-game. e.g. windows, doorframes, vehicles etc

prop_physics: can move in-game (by getting shot, through collision or with the use key). e.g. buckets, furniture (not all) misc junk

ah good thread :)

After starting to tinker with hammer and looking for models, and seeing happyernst's model pack (http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?t=71907) release today, i figured a thread like the one for maps would be good, but for models..and lo and behold ye already had this one from ages ago :D

What causes the red ERRORS in your map when someone else tries to test it yet when you view your own map there is no errors? Would it be because the cornfields, new trees, ME-109 models, etc are props_static and I set it to props_dynamic that causes the errors? When I tried props_static I checked for errors and it said that props_static had some kind of errors itself after I compiled it?
Or do I need to convert WAD to VMT? I just don't know.
Any ideas?

The other person needs to have all the exact same textures, models and sounds as you in order to not get errors.

The particular error you are reffering to is a missing model the person playing hasn't got. When giving the bsp file to someone make sure you include all custom models aswell such as the trees and me109

Guys I'm sorry for seeming to be stupid about this but I've only been mapping for 2 months now and am still a newbie. I appreciate you for letting me know this.

Is Pakrat another type of compiler?

BTW, even if I made the props dynamic and they are static would that also make a difference? Just wondering, thanks again.

Pakrat is an application that allows you to add custom models and textures to your base bsp file. It's essential if you have used any of the formentioned items in your map.

Also handy for including overviews etc.

Download the application - it's pretty intuitive to use.

can anyone point me to the link for dl the thunder flash map project that was beeing made a time ago by students.....

the link on there official site is down....

has anyone been able to dl it before... they sade the .vmf was very big because it contained loads of custom model to use....
