Allright!

I'm gonna claw my eyes out if I see another custom map with 2 platoons worth of Tiger tanks in it!!!!! Give these mapmakers sumptin to work with!
(I am assuming you didn't chunk out the original hi-res model when you were done with the DOD model  )

As I've already said in other posts, theres probably a lot of common vehicles and map models that Valve will make themselves. I expect as they make more maps we'll see an Valve made 88, Pak37, Sherman, GMC truck, Jagdpazer, Jeep, etc.
If the current Valve Tiger tank is anything to go by, the Valve models will be better than anything us custom guys could come up with.
I don't want to spend the time it takes to make a model that Valve will turn out anyway. Mappers will gravitate towards default models as it means they don't have to ship it with their maps.
Oh and the Valve guys get paid for the 20+ hours they put in on a model - I dont. Big factor in my motivation to make a model! :p

jed - we are asking for a model that has already been made. he just wants you to recompile it for source.
No one cares if Valve makes a better model, someone is asking for YOURS, and I personally think the model is great and should serve its purpose well.
I happen to know that if your textures are the right size, this only takes a few minutes, unless your making collision models, which I personally dont think anyone cares about with a pretty low poly model such as that one.
Hell, I could do it in a few minutes, but it seems like you dont want your model recompiled for source. If this is the case, please clarify that.
Otherwise I now ask:
1. Formal request for you to recompile your map for source. This can include any and all the bells and whistles you want. no one is asking for anything other than the original product.
2. If you dont want to do it - formal permission to do it myself, post it, and let everyone and their mom know its YOUR model.
Thanks.

Oh I know the process and its easy enough to do but to be honest, my 1.3 models look like crap in Source.
I'd rather see new models made by Valve or others specifically for Source than just 1.3 converts. They look so out of place it kind of cheapens the experience.
BTW, any of my models that are in the 1.3 GCF cache belong to Valve so technically, I can't stop you porting them.
