As I look at the default Axis player skin, I am a little confused. Here is what i have noticed. Please correct me is I am wrong.
It appears that the default Axis plaer skin has the "Jack Boots" and not the "Low Boots" with leggings. Is this what I am seeing? If so..
The tread bottom of the "Jack Boot" on the default player model has Hobnails on the soles, Is this right? I thought only the "Low Boots had them and the "Jack Boot" was a plain treaded soles.

...never thought of that, nice thinking. Unfortunately, not much we can do for low boots, and jackboots really wern't that popular around 1944.

Jackboots were also equipped with hobnails and heel irons.

yeah, but i wasn't too crazy about the default models having jack-boots. since most of the maps in DoD tend to take place in post d-day settings, it would seem more appropriate for them to have ankle boots with leggings. it would be nice to see some custom models with these, or better yet, a mixture. but i realize the situation concerning the SDK, so i patiently wait :(

what color were the German leggings? I plan to give it a try but I want to make sure I use the right type and color.

Actually (and to save you time) I tried to add leggings to my "Sturmmann" skin and had to abandon it. The problem is the jackboots are simply too high. Canvas leggings, no matter how much you stretch your imagination, only went up mid-calf at most. In other words, they were half as tall as the jackboots. triying to make it work on the model looked stupid

I am glad you told me this..lol
I am a patient man. The Dev Team will come up with something.

i was thinking more that the mod community will before the dev team does. no fault to the dev team, but with so many issues (bugs, new maps, new classes) they're going to have their hands tied for a while. so i don't think alternative player models is high on the priority list. look at how long it took for CS:S to come out with alternative models. i heard they're just now going to release the GIGN and guerilla models.

I agree, but if it requires any modeling to the player models, we are lost. No custom models will work I don't think.
If there is a will, there is a way and I am sure someone will find it.

what do you mean? the quality won't be as good as professional valve models, or do you mean literally that people a unable get custom models to work in source?
