Compile Problem! (Batch Compiler)

05-21-2003, 06:43 PM
Hi, guys, its me again. I downloaded Nem's Batch Compiler and set it up just as it said in the tutorial. I also downloaded ZHLT and used those files. I am using DoD RETAIL, not downloaded. Anyways, I made my first map, and followed an easy tutorial. I made everything as the tutorial stated except for the fact that it asked to make INFO_INITIAL_PLAYER_ALLIES/AXIS because I didn't have them in VHE. I have INFO_PLAYER_ALLIES/AXIS in it though. Anyways, I compiled my map with the batch compiler, and it seemed to work fine. I went to DoD to create my own server with my map, and my map "First" was there. I selected the map, and started the server. It began loading, but at about 1/5 through the loading, it just stopped. It did not freeze, just stopped loading. I canceled, and stared over, but got the same thing. Any help will be very much appreciated! Here is my log:

hmmm, at first I thought you might of just had a leak. Did you build a skybox?

Try clicking on "console" right when you open up dod. Then type "map first" and hit enter.

"first" being the name of your map. For example, say the map was named "cheese" you would type "map cheese"

Hey, thanks for the reply Ender. I think I found something. I went to dod, and started just as I had before. When it stopped loading, in console it said:

WARNING: texture lump "K_brick1" not found
WARNING: texture lump "clip" not found
WARNING: texture lump "sky" not found

What are those? Are they just textures? If so, how do I make sure that they are found? Thanks for the reply(s)

I never saw that error before, but those would be textures.

It may be looking for a wad in your dod folder that is not there.
Did you compile with -nowadinclude? Doing so will compile the textures within your map.

In batch compiler, go to the CSG and check the box that says "No WAD Textures" then compile.

Hey, I just went to the Batch Editor, and included the textures. IT WORKS! I'm so happy now, it's my first map, but its pretty cool. Anyways, I have one question. After I choose my teams, I just stay there in spectator mode, and I do not start. I think this is because I didnt include the INFO_INITIAL_PLAYER_ALLIES/AXIS. I only included the INFO_PLAYER_ALLIES/AXIS. How do I get it for the game to actually start?
Thanks!
