Models in hammer only show a picture of the model IF there's a jpeg of the same name in the same folder.

If you're not seeing any model previews for ANY of the models... then I dunno. Maybe your GCFs are funked up?

Like he said above me some models have pics some dont. If you arent seeing any pics at all try changing your desktop color to 32 bit. I had the same problem when I first got hl2 and someone told me the model pics wont show if you have your desktop color set to 16 bit.

I wish the model selection worked the same way the texture browser does..

Thats why i made myself a model zoo so I could see the model when browsing, screw pictures.

Is that a zoo for all the dod:s models?

If so could you post link and share please?

Tis a great idea.

There is an exicutable in the sourcesdk/bin folder that automaticly creates thumbnail jpgs for models, not sure how to set it up for dods though

All of these are official "dod models"
I havent included the HL2 ones that could fit a WW2 theme.

I might make one though.

Making a .vmf file with all the models in it is pure genius. Thanks for making this, I wish I'd thought of it.

:p

Thank you! You solved my problem as well...changed to 32 bit and BAM. I have models. :)

Stupid question... how do you use a model zoo? I opened the zmf in Hammer, and I see all the yellow boxes, can see what they are in Properties, but the models themselves are not visible.

Except some of the trees and rocks in the corners of the Zoo. Help!
