Can someone clean up the metal on this one? http://www.csbanana.com/?section=viewitem.skins.skins.main.5630

What do you mean, "clean up"?

The metal has the wood coloring on it. So i'm asking if some one can take it off.

I'd love to help...but I don't see it. Looks like normal everyday metal to me.

I believe that's commonly called shading.

Alright, i see it now. And I can't fix it, that's way beyond my skills. Whoever did that is going to have to redo his wood in the right place instead of the wrong place it's in now. Someone obviously didn't pay attention to their UV map.

Can someone fix this then, please?

What i would do is just take the default metal and re-apply them onto this version with the wood that he wants or vice versa. Or clone stamp <.<

The problem with this skin is that the guy made his wood in the wrong place. It overlaps metal parts in places and isn't there in places where there should be wood. Just stamping the default metal would fix what you can immediately see, but wouldn't fix that the wood is just plain in the wrong place.

Yes, i knew that.

What?
Since the wood is in the wrong place then there are obviously parts of the model that should be wood that don't have wood on them. And I don't like stopgap measures so I'd rather not do a fix that won't acctualy fix the problem.

Just checked the VTF file and all wood placements are in the right places but overlaps the metal (just by an inch) that have wood in them but shouldn't. Simply clone stamp the wood out is an easy fix. Or take the original/default, select all, crop out the wood parts and drag the metal over to this custom one. The default metal layer should be the dominant layer now and will cover up any wood overlaps on the old custom metal. Voila!

no modelling involved, just simple (well, if you have the right tools) texture manipulation. :)
