Explosive barrels!

I know this is completely impractical, and the object would be destroyed in the first 2 minutes of a map, regardless if there was any enemies around or not, but I have to ask for it...

Can somebody skin an exploding barrel from HL2 into a military OD green fuel barrel (not a mapper myself, but it's got to be an easy conversion)? I just have to see a fuel depot or something similar in a map somewhere. If somebody just skins it, I'm sure some custom mapper will throw them in just for a laugh.

I can't help it, I just have to see somebody blow a fuel dump!!!

Come on, they had 2.6 million + barrels in HL2, I'm sure they can spare a few.

I've seen a few custom maps with explosive barrels in game. Some are in the rear underground area of Omaha, and a few were spread accross the plains of a snow field.

They DO last for a very short time, but are fun nonetheless.

My dream involves a fuel depot.... a BIG fuel depot..... anybody remember that bridge in the begining of HL2?..... the one with 100 fuel barrels that just happened to be sitting on a rickety bridge.....

I have faith that someone will eventually get around to it.....:D

Map I'm working on will have a fuel debot, with plenty of barrels to boot. I'm going to reskin it when the time comes..

Sounds awesome. I'm not sure if this would be possible but in Omaha the barrels don't give any damage. Would there be any way to cause a barrel explosion harm yourself or an enemy?
