Alright I just loaded up Steam after closing it to do some stuff with it and BAM! Steam has a new look. So I'm letting you all know that I'm starting to work on a skin for this new GUI that'll be based on my DODS Charcoal Steam Skin.

If no one replys, then check the Steam forums and see if someone knows there. Looking foward to it too.

alright I'm getting ready to release a BETA version of this skin - you can't really base it on DOD so it'll just be called the 'Steam Source Charcoal' skin. Look at the first post for links in the future.

How do you go about editing these without the use of an actual editor..which file do you modify?

I modify the .res files (steamscheme.res for the color scheme - located in the resource dir) with Microsoft C++ 98 (you can just use your own text editor) and I edit the seperate image files (borders, pictures at bottom, etc.) with Paint Shop Pro 8.10

I put all the files in there own dir under the skins dir.
