Can I use the Source SDK Hammer for making non Source based game maps? Like for DoD map editing? Or do I have to use the old version of Hammer for this? In either case, can someone tell me the settings to use on the Game Configurations screen?

Thanks a bunch.

Yep.

Well now that wasn't too helpful. Does that mean I can use the SDK hammer to make DoD maps? Or does it mean I have to use the old editor?

And, can anyone provide me with the proper config that I would have to use? For DoD in particular. For the game config, and also the build tools that I would use for DoD.

Thanks.

The SDK editor is for all source games (dod, cs, etc) - so yes you can use it to map for dod, but you won't get very far because the FGD file for day of defeat (that has all the info for entities in it) hasnt been released yet.

Sorry for being lazy but just google it your self, what you need is the 'ol Hammer 3.4 ( I think, pre-steam). AFAIK there aren't any steam SDKs for HL1 mods so head over to Mardymouse (http://mardymouse.co.uk/) and have a look down the left, theres tutorials for setting up hammer and such. Its not that easy nor that hard, steam SDK is the way to go, very simple. You will have to get Zoner's tools to compile with, hammer 3.4 does a poor job with its inbuilt ones. His offical site is down but just google it and there are other links somewhere I found a while ago...
