The official conversion of that custom map for DoD 1.3 was called dod_saints and I quess this map will return one day in Scource - at least in some kind - for being one of the most played before.

Well, the original .rmf was released and there's now tons of versions of the map all over the internet. I don't think it'll be too terribly long before we see it redone for Source. I'm gonna shoot this over to the mapping section because I think you'd sooner see a real response to it over there than here.

cr44 aka dod_American_Gladiators was a good map, and I really like saints too, but they added too many poorly clipped models which I thought really brought it down. The map layout of saints is much better than cr44 with the 2 bridges.

I really can't wait for saints in source. My suggestion is keep it nice and open like the 1.3 saints is.
