DoD:S Players

I heard that in DoD:S that none of the players have submodels. But how does the equipment change? Wouldnt that be related to submodels or a different outside model?
If so, technically you should be able to change things such as faces and bodies for every class.

Each class has its own model.

Oops wrong forum.

Okay so you are saying each class has its own player model? Meaning that each class can look different or that each class has its own model of equipment?

same model for all classes :(.............as i said before: it has been a backward movement, if you compare this with previous version

After poking around some this is what I found..

Each class has a separate player model...

Each player model is broken down into the body/gear as one reference smd, and a helmet as another smd...

Each class' reference smd uses the same basic body/head mesh (only the gear changes)

Since each class has it's own body & helmet I believe it's possible to make it so each class has a separate face, helmet, and uniform... However It looks like once the helmet gets shot off the head there is only 1 model for that... It would be odd if you made the player wear a hat, but when it gets shot off it magically turns into the default helmet...

Interesting. Okay I was just wondering, I'm slowly trying to get back into modelling and need to gain understanding of how DoD:S works.

....Hmm. Intresting. We need somebody smarter than me to figure out how to do this stuff and post it. ;)

It will be a while though. Source pretty much has all the thing I tried to achieve for DoD. But yeah I want to play around and try and add a few of my favourite features Source missed. Anyone can say "splat?"

Well I'm playing DoD:S non stop and getting a graphics upgrade next week so I can run it full blast. Give me a few months and I will be back into modelling or maybe mapping.
