First, does HLMV even work with DoD:S? I have it downloaded, and whenever i try to open a model in it, it says "hlmv.exe has encounterd a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvinience" Any Ideas?

You need the Source version which is in the SDK. The HL1 version doesnt work with HL2/Source models.

Ok, thats another problem i have. I just bought DoD:S separately, and don't have the SDK, its not under tools in my play game window. Do I need HL2 to get the SDK?

Hmmm yeah, I guess you do. I have the silver package so it came with that.

I thought you'll need Half-Life2 in order to run the Source SDK.. If you launch the SDK before you ever run Half-Life2, the SDK will ask ( in an error ) for the 220 content, what means the HL2 gcf content..

But I'm still not sure about this, correct me if I was wrong..

Yeah but source content SDK's are shared with CSS, DODS, HL2DM, etc. If you buy just DOD it downloads the source content GCFs too.

I think what it boils down to is that if you have to of purchased HL2 and have it on your Steam games list to get access to the SDK as well.

Err yeah, we already have a thread here covering the same thing.

However, the problem still seems to be that if you god DoD:S as part of the CS:S retail package you don't get the SDK - for that you need to of bought HL2 too.
