I want to review your DOD:S map!

I'm working on opening up http://dodnation.net

One of the main features I'd like to provide are map reviews. I've been playing DoD since the first beta days, and fooling around with map design even longer. Either way, there are many, many classic DoD maps around, so I will only review new DoD:S maps.

I don't currently have an estimate for when the site will be up, but I do have a decent content managment system in place and semi-configured, so shouldn't be too much longer. That said, if I review your map, it will give you some publicity with screenshots praise/criticism of your work. I can't currently guarantee that I'll be able to host new maps on my own server due to the large size of Source maps.

If you're insterested in getting your map publicized and reviewed on dodnation.net, please follow these steps:

Your map should be a complete and tested DoD:Source map - if you plan on releasing a new version of the map, then do not submit it for review until you're happy with your final version
Fully complied maps only, full bsp, full vis, full rad - no fast compiles
Send me a download link to your map that works. http://www.fileshack.com/submit_file.x is a good place to submit your map for hosting if you need that. I cannot currently host your map files.
Screenshots are helpful, but not required.
A short description of what your map is about would be appreciated.

Submit with 'Map Review' selected at http://dodnation.net/?page_id=13

If you're interested in reading reviews or getting your map reviewed, please also bump this thread. Thanks!

Yea, map reviews have gotten pretty scarce in recent times ... I still remember reading Radium reviews for HL DM on PHL, and they were always a lot of fun.

At the very least, I hope to provide a nice service for people to have an overview of what the map is like. Plus, a map review/preview is a great way to get some exposure for your map in one more place.

The site is now mostly online, though some things remain to be done...

I miss good review sites. Custom content is so scarce, seems now it's client side stuff only... From the servers I've played on in DoD and CSS anytime you have to Download a file from the server people cancel immediately and go someplace else.

Don't get why custom maps scare people so much, I'm pretty bored of the 4 maps that came with DoD:S and am sick to death of stock CS:S maps already.

I hope that your site is very successful, we need somebody to help pimp the good maps so people aren't so afraid to download them!

I'll prolly also have map previews since a lot of time there are maps that become popular before they ever reach their 'finished' state.
