What makes you guys think they are going to release the sdk anyways?

From my past experiences with Vivendi and Sierra, most of their games they dont support anything let alone put out sdk.
I know they have in the previous versions of this game but i wouldnt hold my breath.

You need to get out of the time warp machine you're in immediately...wait...do you have a mullet?

Valve has nothing to do w/either of those companies and in point of exact opposite fact, Valve has been the LEADER in terms of putting out viable SDK and related tools to their customers. From what I can gather the SDK is coming very soon. Hopefully they'll add in one of the maps as a gift (like they have in CS Source).

We're working on the SDK now, but we're a little too early to give you
all a hard date. It's going to take a couple of weeks to get all
finished up.

From Eric Johnson ( Valve ) in the hl coders mailing list. Mail was from Sep., 30.

Laughable. Everyone always whines and whines and whines and then when they get it they whine and whine and whine. No patience or understanding of whats going on behind the doors, people like you just post now now now.

I have full confidence in a Valve, they've supported every game product they release.

The dod SDK is most likely already finished, and we are most likely waiting for other things to be finished and released at that time.

Where did i post now now now?
This coming from a guy that just handed over the work hes done for maps that he was working on because he didnt have the patience for it anymore.
Thats laughable.

Perhaps the now now now was a bit much, however, I Dont see how that has anything to do with the subject what you said.

But ill be laughing if you downloaded it and use them.

Are you referring to the model "zoo" he released? That's actually very helpfull for many mappers, since it makes browsing models much easier.

Oh, and play nice everybody :)

Download your files? No, sorry.
And my last post has everything to do with this.
In a recent post you made today you handed your work over cause you didnt have the patience for it anymore.

Now in this post you are criticising people for not having patience.

Cmon man, which is it?
Or did you just get caught talking smack about something that you have no room to do so.

Just like the guy above that thinks Valve has nothing to do with Sierra.
Sierra has everything to do with this game.
They are the major manufacturer.
Valve is just a company hired by Sierra to do the work.
What Sierra says is what goes.
Plain and simple.
If Sierra says dont release any more patches then valve doesnt release anymore patches, and the same thing for the sdk.

I dont know where youve been for the last few years but sierra was brought out by vivandi and vivandi are publishers (as where sierra) as some one said at the start ^^. so lets narrow that to monkey terms shall we

1. Valve = makes games
2.Sierra = Dead as dodo (no longer a company in they're own right)
3.Vivandi = publisher of games
4.you = lost in timewarp

may i suggest you go and troll the steam forums youll probs be most welcome there

I find it very laughable that you try to explain to a 5+ years mapper who's made some of the best maps out there, and who's had no less than 3 official maps, how Valve works and how they are supposedly just hired by their ex publisher (at the time of HL) to continue making games. If you haven't followed the news, Valve actually won a lawsuit last year against VUG (who own Sierra) and are not even tied with VUG anymore. They've just announced EA to be their publisher now.

Forget it...ignorance is no excuse and all you seem to have going for you with this topic is ignorance.

IF I CALL VALVE FAG WILL THE SDK GET RELEASED SOONER?

I do want to applaud his usage of the carriage return, though.
