Distressed pilot in SPR. lol.
Very nice Vandal. I love the colour.
I would've suggested to darken the equipment and leggings aswell. They look too bright for the dark green uniform.

You have pictures of the real 87th? I've never seen uniforms of that color until I saw your models.

Actually, alot of units during that time wore green. In fact just twoards the end of WW2 the Army Olive Drab color was introduced, before that many uniforms were a sort of deep green. Khaki-esque colors were present, but more prominant on paratroopers than on infantry.

Running a quick google for "ww2 american tunic" you'll see several results come up green: http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&c2coff=1&q=ww2+american+tunic&btnG=Search

The same can be said for checking out living history (reenactment) group's webpages, You'll see authentic uniforms in color. Here's a few pics: (the winter ones were from another divisions Adrennes campaign, which the 87th was a major part in. There aren't any 87th living history groups, that I know of though.)

Also, my grandfather was in the 87th, and noted that he'd seen guys in greens, beiges, ect.

Where do you think "little green army men" come from? :)

The short and sweet answer for that question is that he has turned their early war M41 jackets into mid/later war M43 jackets.

M41:

http://www.militarytour.com/Reproductions/ImagesReproduct/M41.ht19.jpg
Note the lack of chest pockets and the shortness of the jacket. The slit pockets are hidden udner the sleeves in this picture,

M43:

Note the longer length of the jacket, and the 4 pockets.

He has made a hybrid between the two. The color and 2 of the pockets of an M43, and the size and shape of an M41.

^^ What he said.

1) I couldn't change the shape of the jacket. When I attempted to, it simply looked ridiculous. Without modeling you can't shape something the way you want it. For this reason, I didn't bother with the second set of pockets.

2) I chose the green because DOD is set in 44-45, Late war. As you said, green was the late-war uniform, beige was the early war uniform, plus the 87th was activated in like 44 or 45.

I'm thrilled to hear you like them, and have been using them since dod:gold!

Yeah, as soon as Valve lets us get a bit more control (multiple faces/bodies?) I'll be sure to release an update. :)

And ez: I agree. This week has been great. And theres more on the way...at least from me. You can expect:

Several gun skins
More splash screens
Axis models
Another allied model (perhaps).
