Yer, is it possible to add in a different crosshair?
I've been playing around with crosshairs, and I think it is possible to create new Crosshairs...
The problem I've been having is getting the transparency to work properly. I've tried editing the original crosshairs and using them as crosshair5, which works except is still uses the original sprite layout, even if you colour the bits you don't want with the transparent colour. If I make one from scrathc, I can't get it to work properly at all, no transparency at all...

hmmmm ... anyone else having luck with custom crosshairs?
OK, I can now create custom crosshairs. Unfortunatly, they aren't dynamic, and you cannot change the crosshair colours...
Ev!L LOBO what colour do you want your crosshair to be?

ummm could you make two, one red and one green? I'll probally use the red one best, and it being dynamic is no problem for me.
Thanks a ton for the help man!
Crap, upon further investigation, I seem to only be avle to get black crosshairs to work, which aren't exactly usefulll... back to the drawing board...

Quick fix, select the circle xhair in your control panel then reduce the size all the way down.
You now have a green dot xhair.

Wulf, what program are you using to make the crosshair? I was having the transparancy problem too, and still can't get past that.

My problem is the same as this (http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55788) guy. No colour for my crosshair, it comes out black.
When you're making your crpsshair, be sure to add an Aplha Transparancy to it. It only needs to be the same as the RGB sections, but it takes out the blackness from it...

Thanks. Have you tried using the crosshair as crosshair1 instead of crosshair5? Just a thought... maybe that would make the colors work?
Also... I am using VTFEdit... is there a better program for me to be trying to make the vtf file with?
I'd thought of doing that last night, but reading that reminded me. I just tweaked it a bit, so I can now give you your fully colour changeable crosshair.
Extract it to your DoD folder. It'll replace crosshair1, but you can rename it as either 2, 3, or 4 if you'd prefer... Enjoy
Edit: Just got the crosshair to work as a new crosshair, called Crosshair5. Updated the zip file with this... enjoy some more now...

Cool Wulf,
Any chance you could write a short tutorial?
I'll give it a go tomorrow... very tired at the minute...
