Well after 7 long hours, I've finally converted this masterful 30 cal to 1.0. I hacked off the default 30 cal barrel because there was clipping problems on ls3's, but all turned out well. It has transparency and everything.. the p and w models look great. I'm sure a lot of you will enjoy this one... I was going to release in tandem with a bunch of other models I was going to convert, but I couldn't wait to release this because it kicks so much ass.

Credits are in the ZIP, so if I missed anyone who did something for this model, please tell me and I'll update the zip, otherwise I think it's good to go... have fun!

Awesome job Bots! I think this looks more realistic to me than the bipod one. I especially like it since it resembles the the way they used them in Band of Brothers.

I must say that is the best .30 cal sound and model I've ever seen/heard! I have a new found love for the American MG. The sound to me makes it feel like the real thing, this is the sound I've been waiting for, for a long time!

the clampup sound is one that I added.. the original 30 uses the clampdown sound for both clamp sounds which is kinda half-assed imo... I can't stand it when people cut corners on sound, especially on a mod that deals with realistic events like ww2.

nice idea but imo the tripod seems to be too small. maybe there had been different types of tripods but those I've seen looked bigger.

You can use dod3.1 models...and they had a tripod in 3.1 i forgot who made it though, as for the big lebowski-why did they piss on the carpet? tied the room together

grenade, pay more attention to the editing community, it's not the first custom 30 cal for 1.0. People have updated ls3 cal numerous times already to 1.0

Anyway, i would like to download this model, but the thing is is that if the .30 had a tripd it would be accurate and actually kill people, which isn't the case in the game. Great work though!

hey Bots; your 30Cal has been the first modified weapon that made it to my folder. I've been curious about the sounds and now playing MG class although I've never chosen it before as allied has become a pleasure to me.

those are just the dod default anims, if you have a complaint take it up with the dod team.

I don't think anyone cares about whether or not the ingame accuracy coincides with the actual accuracy of a 30 cal mounted on a tripod... It's for pure aethetics, and not much else..

bots i respect you and you rock but im afraid i have to call you an ass. If you are willing to replace your 30 cal model with one that obviously in real life would be more accurate than it is in the game, due to the fact that the gun in the game only has a bipod, it would be disappointing. People play dod because it is WW2 semi-realistic, so don't go ape **** on me for liking realism.

And yes, i am the forum history nazi, and i like to point out every flaw i can, unless it's already been acknowledged. I'm that kind of egotistical degrading jerk. :)

yeah... I don't believe I stated anywhere that I made it. I ripped the barrel off the default 30 cal because ls3's barrel clipped in and out with the transparency coding. That's about all I actually did besides reskinning the barrel.

now this is one model i like bots;) but i'm not liking the black since i prefer my 30 with a gray metal coating rather than a black one. If u could do htis then I'll be eternally greatful and will kick myself in the ass!!:D
