Real newbie mapper here,

I'm having a problem lighting a tiger tank that i'm using in a map im making. I used a light_environment and all other models in the map are lighting well besides the tank which is pitch black. I usually use fullbright so never bumped into this before (like i say i'm a noob mapper)

Wonder if anyone has any tips on what i've done wrong??

Thanx in advance

look at the tank model in hammer, notice the x or the + whichever you see it as, that is the origin of the model, move it slightly above the world brush (the ground, wall, whatever it is on) if the origin is inside a brush it will be black, since no lighting is done inside a brush

Much thanks.

Was working on a tank charged through wall look. Had to scrap my original idea, but i've figured a way round the origin being embedded in the rocks.

Thanx again :D
