HLMV question

How do I apply .bmp to my v models which have a bigger size than the default ones??? I have a nice sleeve texture that is 512x512, the default one is 256x128, but if I want to replace it HLMV gives me an error that it must be the same size. But when I resize the sleeve texture to 256x128 it looks like crap in game, so I wanna keep the 512x512 size. Is there another way to do that??? Is there some method to remove or make the default texture bigger, so that it can be replaced in HLMV without the texture must be same size error???
Can someone help me please??

compile it.

You have to decompile the model, then replace the old texture with the new one, then recompile the model. That's the only way I know of to put a different size texture on models.

And with which program must I compile/decompile???

Sorry for the noobish question but I am new to skinning and modelling:D
