you aren't supposed to be able to. it's a blank file. what my logo.avi does is takes away the annoying half life banner, or any other banner you might have had in there and do not want to see while using my splash.

if someone wanted to make an animated splash they would have to include a logo.avi to animate it (check kommies old splash, or the 1.3 splash to see what i mean).

if there was no banner and you used this, that means you have already changed the banner, and don't need to worry.

that's because you did two [/img] tags, the first one needs to be without the slash.

i don't have retail, but you should be able to do it the same way, wherever you installed dod to.

Well i finally got an answer out of a dod team member (kamikazi <3) :p and the background is the folder "background" but the thing is.. its made up of files, so i dunno if it would be possible to make one of these into it.. hmm anyway letme know if you want me to send you it so you can experiment with it. :)

That looks sweet man, but I was thinking replacing the DoD part with "TaTToo's Ev!L Clan" so its more readable... but keep the "www.tattoosevil.com" where it is tho, it looks good there...

Do you think you could do that for all of em, so my members can choose which they want?

Actually.. You can change the splash for Retail.. I did... However instead of being one one pic like in older versions it's now a series of 12 tiled .tga images that when pieced together make an image 800x600 ... You just need to take the image you want and cut it up into those separate files unless there is a way to get DoD to use just one image...

Also... I have both the Retail and Downloaded versions , and from what I see the file structures aren't any different... Both versions have the folder "resources/background" ... I'll double check when I get home in a couple hours to be certain...

Any chance of you doing this? These would make great wall paper too....They look great by the way.

i'll try converting them sometime, but i've been busy lately.

I know you're busy sanitarium, but how about making a splash screen that represents all 3 teams? There's been some comments that the retail version is pro-allies, so how about going to Day of Defeat's roots and representing both sides like we always have?

p.s: I like your spash screens better than the retail, anyway. What you've done so far is excellent.

Hey Effexx,

I can't seem to get it to work...i installed the mod version of cs in my DoD retail folder....and copied that resources folder into it...now when i activiate the mod version of cs....i know the background image in the copied resource fodler works because instead of changing to that HL background it stays on the DoD background. Now...i got an image...cut it into 12 pieces exact same dimensions as that of the original pieces...and then saved them as bmp, into the existing folder, replacing the other tga files. But when i switch to cs in DoD, it crashes ie the background images arent working....
I checked the file sizes....and for 3 of the images there is a difference of 0.01 kbytes in size....(which is why i think it aint working) how i get the size to be exactly right...better still could u tell me how u did it yourself? thanks.
