Using EntEd to add entities to maps

I was playing the "cd-24/7 ava with brits and axis para" server at 66.45.253.84:27016 and noticed some neat things about their map. I have used "ented" a better version of ripent, to change allies teams etc, but only to pre-existing entities, I don't know how to place an entity at a location in the map, or how to create a new one. How is this done? I mean, how do you tell the entity where it is within the map. For example, for my server, if I want to add a banner with an advertisment, for say, joining the clan. Now I want to place this, an env_sprite entity, ontop of the arch at the allied spawn how is this done?
Here's an example as seen on the cd server:

Here is the program that I use:

Requires the .NET v1.1 Framework from Microsoft if the prog. doesn't run get it here:

thanks that helped answer a lot of questions, just one more.
when i punch in status in a map no matter where I am, axis spawn, allied spawn etc. it gives me the same coords for different locations. these are 424 x, 160 y, 2544 z

oh ... sorry ... I don't actully use that method .. maybe ask on their forums?

I use ripent (way better then ented) and spawnpointediter to get co-ords.

You could try BSPView (I think it's called that) ... some say it's good.

ented, is almost the same as ripent, minus the command line stuff.
but yea, how do you get your coords?
and the spawnpoint editor seems to be setup for cs anyway around this?

yea ... sorry about that. I sometimes have a habbit of doing things a little different but it works for me.

The reason I used spawnpointeditor is because it works well on the crappy PC I have at work and yes, I set it up for DoD.
