i´m glad theres still some activity in the DoD customization scene..

but the magazine of this model looks smaaaall, shouldnt it be a little bit longer (upwards)? (you only notice it on the reload animation)

also theres some minor clipping on the sleeve with the magazine, you can actually see it in the screenshot

wasn't the G41 a very crappy weapon in WWII?

oh well it looks awesome so i'll download

I believe you're thinking of the K41 AFG.

very sexy work TC & DK. :D

the g41 was more like the crappy ancestor of the G43, they had some issues with the gas-recoil system, so they adapted the technique from the russian SVT, i believe

Not really. :D

Hmm, the proportion of the magazine seems to be right.

Yes, I know this little bug, we will try to fix it and then there will be a new version.

yeah, when its inside, the magazine looks right, but i think it doesnt look right when he is taking it out. the magazine should be longer to actually reach into the inside of the gun.

judging from this pic the g41´s magazine wasnt even detachable:

but i could of course be totally wrong, nvm

Thats the point.
The G41 (W) was loaded with two mauser-clips.
But we haven't an animator so we must use the G43 animations for it. and without BillyNair (special thanks to him) the G43 animation had also not fit to the G41.

I thought a new model would be better than to reskin the same model again and again.
We do our best with the model, it's already more than a month of work. there is no one in the "team" which can properly animate.
So we can use existing animations, or leave it.

I'm not into the custom DoD scene anymore (kills my fps) but I just can't pass up another tankcommander model. I gotta say, your Mosin Nagant was one of the best rifles I've used. I use the G43 all the time, so this will definetely be used frequently. Thanks :D

g41's tended to blow up and were v high maintenance.

Anyhoo, good model!

agreed, the immitation of light on the texture was very well done and looked almost real. (plus it was a sexy model.)

I'm confused by the upper handguard(the part on top of the rifle between the front and rear sights)

It looks like an attempt at Bakelite, which was somewhat common, about the same use as wooden handguards on G43's. However, G41(W)'s did not use Bakelite handguards IIRC.

Excellent model though and good work.

I never thought I'd change my K43 skin until I saw this, awesome job!
And since everyone is talking about this Mosin Nagant being so good, where can I download it at?

EDIT:

http://www.dayofdefeat.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46827&perpage=15&highlight=Mosin%20Nagant&pagenumber=1 <-- I found that but the download site is dead!

I dont see it as a historically incorrect gun...

I see it as a damn good replacement.

I like the skin styel. It's not glamorously-faddy like most.

The handguard is plastic.
As far as i know there is only a plastic version for the G41 (readed at "Enzyklopädie der Infanteriewaffen Band 1").

You have your G41 (M) and your G41(W) one made by Mauser and the other by Walther. both were very poor guns and so were the K/G43 rifles. In fact when shooting the G/K 43 its not uncommon for the saftey to break off and hit you in the face. very faulty gun. The G41(M) would break a lot too, thats why when you find one thats matching will bring close to $14,000.00!

One is made by Walter, the other is made by Mauser.
The Mauser differs mainly by the bolt handle sticking out the side like a turk mauser and the Walter has a bolt carrier much like the G43 with the cocking handle on the left side
The Walter was adopted and the mauser was used very limited in trials

I never go by the rating of the models cause there's too many 12 year old kids that like to vote "0" for the hell of it.

Maybe, the vote should be only for registered people?

If you mean the G41, that's a German replacement...

But if you mean Nagant, then yes. They still need to release the Russian models that you guys started long ago!
