I dunno where it came from, I just spotted it in my DoD folder while transfering my old DoD folder's files into my new DoD folder. I don't remember downloading it or ever playing it... there are some really funny things in that map though.

Whats with the grey dot on the gun in the second pic? And can this verision of this map be dl'd anywhere? I'd be curious to run around in it.

Not as cool as my old Glider piccies. I think I have an older version somewhere but I cannot be arsed to go through my backup CDs.

never forget..the journey of the movable box (TM)

Lolol. That movable box was so adorable.

Sometimes I think the movable box is the only thing that understands me. Remember the box races under the map, you could get there by climbing on top of the cross and then over the archway?

Yeah, those were great. And let's not forget who designed the infamous movable box!!

I remember seeing pictures of that tall tower in Ramelle ages ago and I think from there they started their mapping group. Glider, I vaguely remember the first build, not sure if I was playing it then. Might have been closed testing, because I do not remember the burning tank, but I do remember the dead Axis soldier with the flies buzzing around him.

I remember the early Ramelles with the dead guy on the bridge and the record player. Fun stuff.

You know what I really miss though? The old Neuville. The first two versions were absolutely amazing.

The original test release of Neuville was quite simply amazing. It's such a shame that he completely changed the layout and atmosphere of the map, I've never had a better game than the stealth games we had back then.

Reiben, if you're reading this: PLEASE RELEASE THE ORIGINAL NEUVILLE! Even if nobody else plays it, I would love to run it on a personal server at some point. Hell, I'll find the old zip and do it if you don't want to - with permission. :(

Neuville could have been a classic custom, it's sad that he made it so different. He removed what we all loved. =/

I had that Ramelle version a long ass time ago.

I used to have the first release of ramelle..it was so brutally small compared to how it is now, but it was amusing to see the 4 or so places that stayed the same. I think the 3.1 version was the best, merderet feels too clean now...it doesn't have the same feel as before, I liked the flyby and rubble etc. and a bunch of the rooms that were taken out...

I recall that the changes had something to do with people taking offense to some of the content - like the radio playing "the Statue of Liberty is caput" in German. Something like some idiot getting offended because it was too soon after 9/11 or something... so he went and changed that and some posters and eventually made a whole new release...

That's about all I remember.

Maybe, but it's still silly that he COMPLETELY changed the layout. As a normal DOD map it was alright as the new version, but the old one was a brilliant, unique map.

hehe I remember dod_ramelle_b04. And I remember dod_dog1_a03. Ramelle never appealed to me, but dog1 was the **** back then :)

Neuville owned. And then a bunch of servers cut it because of the statue of liberty thing. stupid.

I remember an early ramelle with the usable func_tank where Mellish and that guy tried to hold the flank. I remember that being the only thing that i liked.
