WIP - Overview map pictures

I'm thinking of going through all the overview maps and adding little things like pictures of objectives and other minor enhancements. First I thought I might give you guys a preview to see what people think or would like to see.

The first mape I've done is for kraftstoff, I've paper clipped pictures of the objectives to the edges of the map.

while we're on the topic...

i've been thinking about making my own overheads for custom maps that don't have any... but...


how would do this?

how do i get the perspective used for the old fashioned way (i.e. the overheads in 3.0 and 3.1 were simply in game screenshots)


is it just a matter of going into spectator and going really high up and take a snapshot or what? i doubt this but who knows.

i just need a tamplate to work with before starting.

Don't know if you came across this on the mapping forums Trigger or whether you can make use of it, or anyone else for that matter, but it's a basic mini map template made by Majestic 12.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to hear them because on some maps I'm wondering what I should do. Mainly the flag maps where there aren't really any key areas or objectives to point out.

@Trigger:
On the flag maps?
make a nice scenig screen of one of the capture points, put a lens flare in it, and put it on the map like it would be a photograph, and everybody is happy
(just a thought) :D

I've finished Anzio, Caen, Charlie, Donner, Jagd, Kalt, Krafstoff, and Zalec now, but there are still seven maps to go. I'm running out of ideas for things to do, so if anyone has any suggestions for any of the maps that I haven't mentioned, your suggestions are welcome.

First of all, nice idea! It may look weird when it's small and in the corner of the screen, but who cares! It's cool eye-candy.

Here's an idea for the sake of suggesting:

Make some sharpie circles around things like TNT walls, bazooka-able targets, or objectives. Make the map look like it was written upon, with miscellanous notes scribbled around different places. Here's a small example of what I mean:

Again, I'm looking forward to this.

In Forest, you can blow those boulders with rockets.
