Hi guys (and girls)

Here are some screens of my first map (well the third in fact but the first that deserves to be released...)

Though I used Hint brushes I have some probs with r_speeds but the map is based on bombed houses or buildings so it's hard to get low r_speeds and high-detailed/credible destroyed houses... However r_speeds don't get up to 800 and only in one little area.

By the way I'd like to know the average r_speed limit because some tell about 800/1000!!! Is this true or not???

Sweet, not bad.

One thing... In the second pic, the two houses side by side off to the right, the texturing together looks a little "off" one house looks this way, the other house looks completely opposite, but they are touching eachother.

Separate them, but a hedge between them to "smooth" it out.

Peace, nice work.

Looks very good, nice detail. I hope the gameplay is nice. Make sure you have made an overview map before you release it, even if you don't photoshop it to make it look nice.

;) Thx guys

I don't really know if the gameplay is great or not as I only tested it with bots and you probably know that they're not that smart as human are.

The map recreates a little village in north of France in a region called Franche-Comté (Jura) After a massive bombing in the region, a little group of Allies is on his way to take the village back from Axis hands. The houses are almost all dstroyed and there are a lot of obstacles, you got to go up and down and bots are not so good doing this. Plus, they're not good at leaving capture areas (there are 2 in the map) after the job is done: they always get "stuck" to the damn flag shouting "I need backup"/"Yes Sir"

I've tried it anyway and think it could be real fun and really interesting.

Last but not least I didn't have time to make the overview yet

Come back on this thread for updates...

As far as r_speeds go for wpolys anything under 800 is fine anything under 1000 is OK but wouldnt recomend going over 800 and for epolys anything under 10000 is fine as long as wpolys are under 800

Thx for the reply, I was lost as there are so many configurations possible on earth that I had some difficulties to figure out the average values for that stuffs... I'm quite glad as I've always thought less r_speeds means more speed ingame and some more people to play the map (think some guys have prehistorical machines I know one of them with a Voodoo1 and a 500mhz 128mo SDRAM... it's hard to make my maps run on his computer or I have to make it simple, doesn't get above 200wpolys this means crates everywhere and houses that are simplistic textured cubes => CS maps for exemple...)

If you can put that much foliage in your third map succesfully, i think you got skill.
