guys I've got a model problem I can't figure out. in the pic below I am using the dead_axis model. in hammer or in hl model viewer it looks just fine, but in game you can see its all screwed up, twisted around backwards. do I just have a screwed up version of the model, or is this some other problem. thanks for the help.

As I remember, there were similiar problems some time ago, when 1.2 or 1.3 was released and they implemented a new animation blending system for models.

That had some funny results for people with custom skind or models, namely that the player models would run twisted and backwards, kinda like that model in your screenshot.

So, I suspect the model your using is in some way incompatible with the current version. Could be wrong though...

hmmm, that makes sense ric...
I guess my real question then would be, does anyone have a better model I could use. I need the guy to be sitting up. I am using a dead model, but I actually want the guy to be a drunk. I redid the texture on this one to remove the blood. any similar model of a dead guy somewhat sitting up would work.
thanks.

ok, the standard axis-inf.mdl does have a deadsitting sequence (number 342) but I can't figure out how to get it to show up that way in game. help appreciated...

not sure what you mean by that. he said that some models were incompatible, so I switched to a regular player model...def compatible. sooo, I took his advice and switched models...tell me what I'm missing about his post.

I was then having trouble getting the right animation sequence to show up using the new model. I actually just figured out the new problem. under the sequence variable, I was putting in the sequence number, not the actual sequence name, so now it works just fine.

the reason this was confusing was because in the animation sequence [editor] field you have to put the number in, not the name.

thanks ric for pointing me in the right direction (a compatible model).
