CS style objectives
I saw a thread on here about a suggestion for some CS style elements in a map. It got locked for obvious reasons (he was suggesting a concentration camp), but what about a map with POW rescue, such as CS hostage rescue maps. Or say maps with a VIP, say a General or something like that. Could these things be done in a map, without a major overhaul of the source code for DOD?

I was wondering the same thing, about freeing a scientist from a V2 factory in a para_style map with a limited time scope.
I am pretty noob towards mapping myself, but it looks to me that it would just be another Objective based map. Just like with retrieving documents.

LOL AS and CS style gameplay can't be done in DOD atm
I'm guessing there'll be a lot of flames from those evil anti CS ppl in here soon
Its possible to make DE-ish style gameplay in DOD, where a player picks up explosive and blows something up with it (see overlord et al)
my v2base map has something like that.
Within a limited amount of time. The allies have to get into the base, capture documents and blow up the V2's. The axis have to defend.
Bridge2: the axis have to blow upt he bridge.
the para style was an attempt to bring cs style to dod. It flopped. Mainly because most dod-ers want to play the game. Not sit and watch the entire match how to snipers are getting on to each other.
I don't even consider these CS specific elements: take a look at TFC or other early games like Outlaws that had an assination mode (chicken mode called I believe).
Anyway, dod ppl are very reluctant to use the term CS. Our community isn't very fond on that game. So that's why it got locked: to prevent flaming.
you cant "map" hostage rescue. as the code woould have to be entered into the game. well you proably could map it, but its be bloody buggy and the AI of the default HL scientist would be a bit pish :/
