Well, just started fooling around abit with the new hammer and got dead tired of having to launch the game and then load the map...

So now my question is, how do you create a windows shortcut to load the map directly in source? :)

I might be wrong but try this:

...\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 30 -game "dod" +map nameofyourmap

whatever you do dont use change the shortcut thats ON the steam menu... even if you join a server with HLSW you end up loading up your map... gets real annoying

You just need to configure hammer the right way.

I hate compiling using hammer and thus I compile from a dos prompt. That way I can still work on my map while compiling....

How do you do that? I'm just wondering, it sounds like a better method than useing hammer... does it compile straight from the .rmf?
