ok, yeah this is really simple, just add a env_model entity to your map where you want the model. THen go down the list of properties and you'll see one called something like "model name" just click the "..." button and select the folder where your models are located (probably dod/models or mapmodels) select the model you want and you're done.

If you have the newest version of hammer you can actually view the model in hammer(very cool and useful) so you can position it like a regular brush, and see how it will look. If you don't have this, maybe someone else will send the link, cause I don't have it offhand.

Once you've done that and got the model in your map, you'll have to clip it -- otherwise you'll be bale to walk right through it.

Use the textures from the hlbasics.wad (in your DOD folder) and make a collection of brushes that clip the model (the new ability to see models in Hammer really makes this so much easier). Make this collection of brushes a func_wall, and use one of the special textures in that hlbasics.wad to make sure you get the right sound when someone shoots your "model". You'll need the right attributes set ont he render modes of the func_wall so that it is invisible.

Waldo posted in this thread a link to a download of a map of pre-fab clips for the various models that come with 1.0:
