Rename it to what ever scope_#########.spr you like and stick it in the folder:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\elitesniper@yahoo.com\day of defeat\dod\sprites\"
it is currently the Axis' sniper scope.

I got the idea from the "The Army" commercial, with the guy on a hill with a M82A1 scoping the guys in a jeep.

"You have food for 5 days, it is day 12" or something like that.

Anyway, here it is, I promise you the color differences are so minor it will not interfere with your gameplay, but it does look cool.

Even if you are into exact realism, give it a try anyway, it looks cool, and technicaly, they had the technology back then, 35mm cameras for example had a similar lens, so it could be historicaly accurate. muhahha

This is the new scope, the older scope's screen shot can be seen down in a lower post

here is a screen shot, with the scope contrasted against the sky, then against 2 targets, to show how it looks in game. (like I said, it doesnt interfere.)

If anyone actualy uses this, I might clean it up a little, get a better fade on the lines and the hemispheres

FREK, I tried to change the attachment, and it got all messed up, there is a new screen shot down below a few posts

got it cleaned up a little, the fade around the hemispheres and touched up the lines. Took me longer to tweak it than the original took to make... haha

OK, here is the updated screen shot, looks like the old one, but notice the difference in the ''Y'' part and the fade around the hemispheres. I also thined out the center cross, down to 1 pixel from the standard 2.
I kept the shading the same (100%, 90%, 80%) but might want to darken it more, ?? might help in centering the target more.

OK, the ZIP file is in that top post, I tried it and it showed me the old screen shot (WTF??!?!) then again, and it gave me the ZIP, so if you have trouble getting the ZIP, let me know and I will re-upload it again in a seperate post...

anyway, i erased the old screen shot as well... by mistake... but to give you a before and after so you know that was changed, here is the old screen shot

(changes are in the fade around the center hemispheres and the ''Y'' parts on the cross hairs)
