nice idea. but you might want to crop the image so it fits 1024 x 768 resolution.

i heard the maximum size of custom splashes would be 800x600, no way to get a higher res..

well whatever. what i mean is crop to the right resolution so you don't get that stretch effect.

yeah. Crop it so its 600 long, leave the height as is, and add black, etc to the bottom of the image to fill it to 800. This way its black where all the menu options are.

Change the font too. That font seems plain.

You dont need the Day of Defeat text at the top left corner, there is already one on the bottom left.

the splash is ok, but the large open blue sky takes up alot of the area and kinda kills it. I liked the movie, but I think you could find a better picture from it.

If your intent on keeping this one, try adding some subtle photoshop work to ease the colors a bit, and the suggestion about the border surrounding the picture is a good one and would eliminate some stretchiness im sure.
