vis problems

hey there guys.

Okay,now this is a problem im gettin very annoyed about.on a map i did(dod_smallport),i get the very irritating "draw" effect.What i mean is when i run through the map,i can see it draw in the walls and a house i put on a hill.Its quite a long map and i know the hl engine doesnt like big open spaces but ive seen other maps where you can see for a long distance without getting the draw effect(tallgrass and dod hill classic)

Now,ive compiled it using normal,fast and full vis but it has the same effect.Do i have to adjust the max viewable distance of the map in hammer to help correct this?

Please help as im gettin really fed up with this.many thanks:confused:

I think what you're asking for is:

In Hammer, go to Map -> Map Properties -> Max viewable distance

set that to 10,000 or higher if your map requires. Setting it lower won't prevent the drawing of the brushes, so you might as well set it as high as possible so the visuals don't look brutal.

i thought it was something to do with that,but i wasnt sure on the limits as to how far i could set it....many thanks again.
