TGA2VTF Problems..

Using Vtex, I'm trying to convert a tga to a vtf but each time I get an "problem finding output directory" error. Yes, the tga is in the correct (materialsrc\sprays?). I've done a search on this and it seems that many other.. non vtex familiar people are having the same problem. Any suggestions?

Choose the correct Mod your working on in the Source SDK menu or add -game "path\to\your\modes\gameinfo.txt" on the command line.

Or wait for me to release the new version of VTFTool which does TGA->VTF a lot easier. :D

After moving to the CSS directory, I now get

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\dsklfjsldfjsdlf\counter-strike source\cstrike\vtext>vtex.exe 0mkdir -shader LightmappedGeneric hl2\materialsrc\sprays*.tga
input file: hl2/materialsrc/sprays/urbantemp
output directory: c:/program files/steam/steamapps/ladsjflasdjf/counter-strike srouce/cstrike/materials/erialsrc/sprays
config file hl2/materialsrc/sprays/urbantemp.txt not present, making an empty one
Can't open: c:/program files/steam/steamapps/pflkajsdlfkjalksdfjkasdf/counter-strike source/sctrike/materials/erialsrc/sprays/urbantemp.vtf

So... I need a text file for my tga now?

No, only if you want to set certain flags in the VTF header. If the TXT doesnt exist it just makes an empty one anyway.

put quotes around the path/filename because its got spaces in it and it will try and split it up otherwise.

i.e.

"c:\this is where I\keep\my\pr0n\pics.tga"

how do I set the output dir in the .bat then? :(

--------------------------------------------------

Ok... I figured it out w/o the knowledge of changing the output dir (although it would have been nice). Instead of trying to make it go to an already existing folder, I made the folders that it was trying to put in and it worked... Thanks for the input Mr. Jed.

Ok, now the player models are invisble ingame. The console said I needed to add $model=1 to the VMT, how would I go about doing this?

--------------------------------------------------

meh.. deleting the VMT works
