Not bad so far mate but the foregrip looks weird, could jus be the lighting on the render though.

Keep it up.

If you actually look at real pics of a BAR...

Having a flat foregrip would make it extremely hard to hold in real life.

Edit: Saw this in CDG. Looks nice. Just don't put a carry handle on it. ;)

Less of a dip in the forgripe would look better I think.

ive changed some stuff. completely new front grip, changed the trigger gaurd, sights complete, more detail e.g. full auto and semi-auto switch.

the front grip was too high polys. what do you think of it now?

Looking much better :) Is the front sight intentionaly not there yet? Would you consider an animated sling and no bipod or handle?

irfoist
01-07-2005, 02:16 PM
i am hoping (probably a long shot but ill try) 1 with bipod, 1 with handle and one with none.

sling, im not sure, its 1900 polys at the moment but after ive done the front sights and bipod well see about a sling.

***EDIT***

just a smooth render.

Is this for the current DoD or something in Source? I noticed the other day that the M249 in CS:S is somwhere near 5000 polys   :carrot:

Blimey. One odd thing I have noticed, is that playing HL 2 gives me no fps lag, but CS : S does, it's really jolty.

Jed: this will be for DOD not source.

Update: added a bipod, front sights and a part that connects the gas cyliner to the barrel

I thought that i could do the bipod better so i did a second version. which do you prefer? the first one A or this one B?

http://img36.exs.cx/img36/8830/barv2bipodstyle2b9zi.jpg

it pivots on the cylinder.

I never use the bipod, but I love seeing it on the model.

I prefer the second model with the longer bipod legs.

Great work so far. :D

*thumbs up*

Like the second one myself.

Kieffer

I have a suggestion for the top of the bipod make it like a line sight instead of the circular one

irfoist
01-08-2005, 03:33 PM
it has a line inside the circle on the sights

***EDIT***

pc is allmost 2600 now.

IMO, the second bipod is much better.

generally made the barrel bigger and the bipod smoother.

oh I see now that model is aweosome I have couple questions. Are u gonna use splinter sleeves on this? And when u set up the bipod for the anims make him put the sight thing near the handle up. Thatd be awesome.

irfoist
01-09-2005, 03:50 AM
i havent looked at sleeves for it yet.

Is it possible you could make a handle version with the handle on the right side? :D

Yeah! SMASH THE SCHOOL!

We don't want realism, just give us the smoothshaded grey BAR and leave it at that!
