This is my first attempt at reorigining and I tried to go for the 'semi-shouldered' look. You may like it and you may hate it. just try it out and give me some feedback. Oh, and sorry for the lack of pictures.

Lack of pictures = lack of downloads.

:(

what origins did you use?

Freedom Fighter, I'm not trying to start a fight, but is it really that much of an effort to download and try in-game?

btw, nice work.

i dunno genie, were all too lazy...

Yes actually it is , download , rename old garand , place new in folder , try in game , come out , delete new one , rename old one.

05-13-2003, 06:35 PM
Genie, rephrase your question to:

"Arsenal, I'm not trying to start a fight, but is it really that much of an effort to try in-game and take pic?"

if you rename your old garand, you're an idiot. Install dod to your unzipped folder, k? Then replace whatever you are replacing in your real dod folder. Then if you don't like it, copy paste. Not that much of an effort.

Go stick up for your butt buddies else where.

Freedom Fighter, its real easy. Place in Half-Life/DoD/models/
then you load up the game....and then omg, you actually see it..

Ive never seen so many lazy asses in my life. A picture isnt required and no one is FORCING you to download. And your stupid 'OMG WHARS PICTARS' comments are not necessary at all....

No, it's not real easy. Some of us are busy people. We dont have time to try every little release, and the truth is - Lack of pics does equal lack of downloads. Sure some people will download it and check it out ingame for themselves, but the majority I would say feels the same way as me = "lack" of downloads. That's why everyone else sticks a pic in their release.

And yes these post's of "OMG where's the pic blah blah blah" is necessary. Cause look, I did it, and look, theres a pic now. In fact if anything, your post wasnt at all necessary. At least with my post I was emphasizing the need for pics, and I got the pic. So what's your objective wise guy?

1. Download
2. Find file and unzip
3. Check the folder and cut the models (maybe read the readme)
4. Find your models folder
5. Do a backup of your current model
6. Paste the new one.
7. Run Half-Life
8. Do some clicking and then wait for the server to start
9. Wait to respawn
10. AHA!

Now if you dont like it you:
1. Quit
2. Find the models folder
3. Delete the file
4. Put back the old file

Too much to do. Whilst clicking a picture is WAY easier. You say why its such a big deal not trying it ingame. If its not such a big deal why cant you make an ingame screenshot. It saves people time.

I like it...the more shouldered view looks a lot more natural, rather than the kinda-sideways view that they changed the guns too...that kinda screwed up my aiming transitioning to 1.0...

05-14-2003, 01:55 AM
These origins are cool!!! I just tried them out in-game and they really help my aim ( don't know why but it does )

well bish, i know some people have had bad experiances by jsut downloading a zip that someones said is a released MP40 or something and found it to be something else they didnt want. so yes pics are required. why dick about for 10 minutes wqhen clicking one picture would suffice? i always include pictures in my releases. you callpeople wanting a pic lazy? jesus how lazy is it if i cant be arsed to do one screenshot even if it is in HLMV? completely unneccesary bish.

i agree with FF, browsing the forums for more custom material is fun, but i do have other things that i need to do, right now, i got 5 minutes to browse the board, then i have to go to another city, 20Km away, where ill be busy for the rest of the day.

So, a pic helps me to make a quicker decission on if i might like it, if so, i download it quick and place it on my desktop, so i can check it out myself when i have the time.

Any more realeses in schedule ? :D

Yeah maybe you could put these origins on other weapons too?

PS I know how to re-origin I just can't get that kind of nice position :D

05-15-2003, 08:39 AM
Could you make it a little...more...shouldered? Right now the gun is kind of low, I like how it's pointing more straight than the default origins, but could you make the gun angled down more. It looks like it's pointing up right now, and i'm saying to angle it pointing down. I dont really know how to explain it so it probably sounds confusing.

I made a visual to help show what I mean.

Can you make it look like THIS? (http://www.planetmedalofhonor.com/mohcomics/garandreorigin.jpg)

C'mon guys dont fight over something as small as pics...but I do think that pics are needed for a REL I never download unless there are pics. We need pics to know whether we like it or not and it'll only take less than a second to take a screen, convert it to jpg then attach :) I like the origins, the default garand origins seemed weird. Aresenal Gear... u can make this gun shouldered , but... i hope u will release more, and more :D with "yours standard view". I don't like shouldered weapons. And IMO your garand rules, so.. i hope, u keep the "correct look on the situation" :D ! Any more releases in schedule ? :)

Arsenal, could you possibly give me (or everyone if they want it) the origins that you used for making this Garand? I don't especially like the defaults but I'd like to reorigin the custom one I use so it'll look like that.

Thanks.

Edit: Is this the bone stock default Garand or the default Garand with Glimsharp animations?
