hope he'll give you the go to release it, never liked the FOV. Its the only reason why my models folder doesn't soully contains Splinters models.
Though he'll probaly wants that in his original thread. He said that afterwards aswell after the release of the de-FOVed k98 by wolfmann (correct me if im wrong).

Ugly springfield... The scope don't fit with the rifle.. Why did u make a long scope?

Splinter wanted to make it a M1903-A1/Unertl.
They used a Unertl 8x Telescope Sight.

For christs sake who is this.. go learn some more polite language. I like it and you should be asking Splinter.. ffs.

Calm down... :mod:
That said, nice idea although the scope does look VERY long and not to my personal taste.
Would be interesting to see it in Source though as that renders v_models with a seperate FOV to the rest of the world.

i agree with jed about this one.
Yes fov no fov... i find it ugly and unreal (we already know normal looking models looked :hamster::hamster::hamster::hamster:ed in HL1 especialy when they are long).
but if you guys like it... why not ? ;)

What are you talking about? It's called an opinion.

Opinions are better appreciated when they're constructive.
While "Ugly springfield" is certainly an opinion, it is hardly constructive.

Well, i love splinters reskins, aswell as most of his animations (he gets better with every reskin he makes), but i think that i will take the default scope and put it on this model.
It doesn't look bad, it really looks like this, but i simply don't like it much.

What's a FOV?

FOV = Field of vision.
HL1's default FOV makes weapons look stretched and pointed and the DoD team compensated by "flaring" the end of the models to give fake FOV correction.
Not everyone likes it so some have "de-FOV'd" weapons to remove the flaring.

Thanks Jed for the explanation. In the older versions, i remember correctly (?), the weapons were all defoved?

Yes they were. And it looked bad, esspecially the rifles.
I don't think that defoved models look good but a mix between the default DoD FoV and the completly defoved models would be best.
