ok.. this is :hamster: :hamster: :hamster: :hamster: ing pissing me off now... after i open hammer (for source) for maybe 5 minutes, all 3 views get f'ed up! its like when you go outside a map and start looking around, the same pic gets copied over!!! then when i close hammer cause its being retarded, i get a error "Hammer has cause an unknown error in *something...*"
this is REALLY ANNOYING!!! as i want to continue mapping... noone on ANY forums are usefull, as they reply with stupid and pointless answers... anyone have ANY idea how to fix this?
things i have tried yo do:
1. re-install the SDK
2. kick my computer (kinda pointless)
3. space to be filled
and i know im not the only one to get the problem, cause ive seen other threads on other forums, where noone give usefull information... if you want me to post anything about my PC just lemme know

I get the exit error but as far as the viewport problems, maybe PC requirements? I know when working with source maps its evil on my comp

its quite frustrating to say the least about the speed of the program. The old hammer would work with a pIII 600mhz.
But I think we should all be patient. Steam allows us to recieve frequent updates and Im confident Valve will strive to make the program better. After all, I think back to how slow and fustrating steam itself was, and now its a pretty kick arse program.

I only got that when I ran one of the games and had hammer still open. But that was ages ago. I have 512Mb RAM and it runs fine.

I think the inherent memory leak in Windows ME could be part of the problem. Since, from what I've read, the SDK requires a lot of memory...add in a memory leak and there is potential for the problems you describe.
Windows ME memory leak info... (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,10816,00.asp?kc=ETNKT0209KTX1K0100361)
I know the article is old, but they never did get around to fixing the leak...

That was a typo actually, I had intended to put "apocolyptic crisis of losing proportions" guess it slipped. :)
