I've been workin on a reskin of a Garand by lots of people, the model was by MarZy, Trigger, and Mortar..I'm guessing each person just did edits or something but anyways..HLMV screen is included...I need to learn how to do those fancy-schmancy renders

How much darker? I kinda did different lightings across it to see which looked better, should it all be consisitant with the stock color?

BTW what do you mean its gonna be a "mama"

Hmm, in the wood that connects to the stock I cannot get it to not look stretched out in game..I don't know what it is...maybe just the model because Ive redone the wood on it several times

Disciple I am getting so f***ing sick of you, I just looked through all posts youve posted and 90% of them that were related to DoD editing were negative...not CONSTRUCTIVE just negative "i dont like this, i dont like that"

flaming people for say something as stupid as an accidental double post? my god I would like you to release something...all you do is talk negative and then say when Splinter confronts you in his post about your b****ing you become a little suck up saying he should work for valve..hah

You need to stop posting negative, and tell people how they can improve on things..you are no help to anyone...

If you would like me to I could post just a small dent in the negative comments youve done

sorry, I was just looking at all different posts, saw more of his comments and I was already in a bad mood so I decided to post about it...but seriously negative comments do not help, they just manage to piss me off, actually critique the work you can say you dont like it but dont post with that post something that will tell me what Ive done wrong and what I need to fix..

Alright, well this will help you out with other skins in the future. Just to give you a perspective.

you may also like to use grunge brushes for scratches and blemishes etc, also overlay other colours here and there can improve the texture, but its up to you, i made this example about a month back when helping someone else out, you may want to take a look at it.

get the brush tool (press B). Set the mode to overlay and opacity at about 5 - 10%. use coulors like red, orange and purple, dont go too outrageous. Also use the sponge tol at about 35% strength on desaturate mode and make ur edges look a bit more worn. use that along with ur curent edging technique.
If u want to make more effective dents, dodge a mark on your wood and then burn a mark to the left or right of that depending on your lightsource.

Example:

Hope it helps :)
