Mappers, I plead with you, capture this:
A goldmine of pictures on that torweihe.de site.

So many roads, cobblestone streets, etc, so little mud in current DoD maps. I'm seeing some nice sheen available to capture a mud feel in Source. Go for it!

The main reason why mud isn't being used very often is because it looks so bad. I'm not really sure, but last time I checked people preferred looking at good looking maps, not ugly ones. ;)

Maybe that's because there arent alot of good mud textures around... The last time I checked there weren't anyway ;)

It looks bad because the mappers havent added any women wrestling in the mud....sheesh.

How would it look in Source? I've been checking out the floors and roads in HL2, and it seems you can pull off a nice sheen or shininess that could be used in mud.

Any texture specialists out there posting? Really, I'm curious and want to encourage mappers and designers to give us more realistic maps.

yeah, if the gameplay shouldnt be totally realistic (at least a big part of this community thinks so) so at least let the maps be!
