Yet another Source conversion.

Not easy to get it 100% correct as there isnt enough info in the current SDK to know all the compiler settings, but I had a go anyway.
Best part is the scope actually reflects whats around you rather than just the chrome effect it has in 1.3.

Looking real good Jed, this just confirms some of the goodness that will be Dod:Source! Can't wait.
Are you gonna release this like you did your Airborne for CS? I'd love to just use a enfield.

Probably not. Its too buggy to be of any use really.

I totally understand the excitement over "proof of concept" stuff though... Whether or not it works at this point is sidelined by the fact that it can be done!... Keep at it Jed...

Well the problem is I've compiled in the animations and I've set them to be the same as the ones in the original AWP model - same names, order frame rather and number of frames yet I get a buch of error messages in the console that make no sense and the animations don't play.
I can only assume at this point that the source version of studiomdl requires different settings for v_models but as the SDK contains nothing about them i'm flying blind really.
The only other issue is the shaders on the materials - specifically the lens. It reflects the evironment map so you get a fairly good reflection of the skybox as you move, problem is I cant seem to make it respond to how light or dark the environment its. All the other textures darken as you go into shadow but the lens doesnt so it seems to self illuminate.
I guess all of this will be revealed in the full SDK when its released.

does it only reflect the skybox or are you able to see directly behind you?
If the later.. can someone model like a hand holding a mirror or a car's rearview mirror, to replace the pistol or something, lmfao.

i've seen shotguns used by swat with big ass mirrors on the end for looking around corners, that would be cool in any source mod
