i need soem help animating a sling

ok im working on a BAR and im adding a sling to it but i was going ot animate it but after i put the new bones on the sling and comple it is makes the gun look like this.

Oops, you tried to move some vertices but accidentaly had the bones selected too - *bzzzzzzzzt*, thanks for playing.
If you had autobackup turned on in milkshape go back a few versions, otherwise, you are the screwz0red.

You trying to animate this from scratch, or add a strap to existing anims? 'cos you can't do that ;)

ya i was adding it to the exsiting ones i guess i could of seiad that ealier lol ok thanks i will redo all the aims and see if it works then :)

Adding bones in Milkshape to an existing animation only screws it up.
The best trick is to hack it a bit. Add the bones and then export the REFERENCE model and open the SMD in Noteplad.
Copy the nodes section which lists all of the bones and then replace the nodes section in the ANIMATION SMD you want to use.
Import the animation into Milkshape and you'll have your bones, but none of the new-ones will have keyframes, they'll just follow their parent bones.

ok im a bit lost right now i opened the refrice file in notepad but copey the the nods that are there and add in the nods from the animation i what? how dose that work when im adding the bones to the sling on the refrece file? can u say what u have to do abit more clear?
with maybe soem exsaples?
