Oookey, I couldnt see this so I thought to get this started, Im going to get 3DS Max 6 in a few days and I'll start working on this.. I could really need some reference pictures. I'll probably make a whole new garand and stuff... atleast someone is ready to donate one...... btw its to replace the springfield.

well has anyone got reference pics?

here is one (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m1cm1d.jpg)

here are even more, scroll down a bit, they are b/w and the images arent that big, but at least they are there (http://www.thesupplybunker.net/weapons/us_sniper.htm)

i´d recoommend u to search for "m1c" and "m1d" garands (http://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi&q=) :D

id like to see an m1D, the scope looks much better, not so plain like the m1C´s

interesting concept.

shouldnt the scope be like this?

http://www.gunaccessories.com/MilitaryScopeMounts/M1Garand/garand.jpg

from experience with IamDoydy's scoped SVT-40, it is a pain waiting for the scope to come back up after firing as it isnt a bolt rifle. if its good then ill probably use it.

mm.. thanks irfoist.. I'll probably be getting the 3DSMAX6 tomorrow so I'll probably get the scope ready soon, and i'll do a whole new scoped garand later.

i saw that pic, too, but its from a site where they sell modern scopes and rails that can be easily attached to any gun, so the pic looks nice, but it isnt a real m1c/d scope, i wouldnt use it for historical correctness. some ppl (including me) are really mad about things like this.

No, and that's a really awful thing to do to a Garand. Permanently butcher it to mount a damned scope? Ugh.

Agreed. Btw, don't go with the M1D. It wasn't used during WW2. M1C, m8.

ive actually had the privelege of shooting one of those fine peices of American craftsmanship, and if u get it right, ill use it in a heartbeat. just remember the scope is to the side of the gun to avoid ejecting shells, its got the rubber eye protection pad, u no the basics of the model, o and be sure the skin of the scope at least somewhat matches bruts fantastic job with the garand.

actually i shot the garand with the flash suppressor on the end, it looked like this http://www.thesupplybunker.net/pictures/weapons/m1d_garand_flash_supressor_2.jpg

That's a T37 Flash Suppressor. Here's a closer pic. There's tons of other ones, but this is the first one I found on Ebay in a quick search.
